The idea behind LastFM is you tell it a bunch of music you like and it plays things that it thinks you would like. I believe they use affinity logic.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Pandora is another such site. They have music experts tag music in various ways, allowing them to recommend music similar to what you like.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;MusicIP is more oriented toward active looking than passive playing. Odd UI, but you can sample things quickly.
