CHICAGO, 04/10/2007 – The April edition of Dev Cares took place in Chicago, IL on 4/10/2007 and in Downers Grove, IL on 4/26/2007. These sessions covered IIS 7.0. The first session was presented by Don Peterson, a Principal with Clarity Consulting. That session, "What's New in IIS" covered the changes that are part of the IIS 7.0 release. The second session, "Extending IIS 7.0" was presented by Ryan Powers, also a Principal with Clarity Consulting, and took a deeper dive into the new extensibility features available in IIS 7.0.
IIS 7.0 has been described at Microsoft as the biggest release of IIS since IIS 1.0. These two sessions provided the developer perspective on the changes that are coming in IIS 7.0, specifically focused around Security, Configuration, Modularization, System Management and Diagnostics
