Clarity Consulting, Inc. (
www.claritycon.com) was asked by Microsoft to implement a Wine Cellar Management application as the center point behind Paul Flessner's keynote speech at the recent SQL Everywhere Launch in San Francisco. The presentation, which focused on Microsoft's ability to run SQL Server 2005 on all Windows platforms including Mobile Smartphone, was given to hundreds of thirsty press members and partners.
Clarity's CTO Jon Rauschenberger states "With SQL Server Everywhere, Microsoft is demonstrating to businesses of all sizes the valuable ability to manage data in what Microsoft terms 'Occasionally Connected Scenarios'. The growing set of solutions requiring cross platform access to data by desktop, laptop, and mobile phone has created a need Microsoft is well positioned to meet. We were pleased to help demonstrate Microsoft's mobile data management capabilities with this application."
And what an applicable demonstration it was. In the city of wine connoisseurs, Paul Flessner used Clarity's Wine Management prototype to demonstrate how a collector could interactively manage their wine inventory, whether it be from work, home, or on-the-go by cell. The affect was a savory glimpse at the mobile advantages to come with SQL Server 2005 Everywhere Edition.
