Clarity's CTO helps present Microsoft keynote demo for Chicago launch event
Microsoft's combined product launch of Visual Studio2005, SQL Server2005 and BizTalk2006 is truly one of the most ambitious efforts from Microsoft to date. This massive product rollout that commenced with Steve Ballmer's keynote speech and product demo presentation in San Francisco November 7th also features a worldwide major city tour.

A featured Microsoft partner in each city will help to present the same keynote demo that was presented in San Francisco. In Chicago November 10th 2005, that person was Clarity's own CTO Jon Rauschenberger. Jon also led the development team that created this demo being used for each launch event. Jon got to show the 4,500 registered attendees of the Chicago launch his expertise live on stage as part of the keynote presentation, featuring Microsoft's Paul Flessner, Senior Vice President of Server Applications.

Jon shared the stage with Microsoft's Ilya Bukshteyn. Together they presented a very impressive demo, showcasing many new features of these latest versions of Microsoft flagship developer products. Jon's role in this demo was to help walk the audience through a typical business scenario, in which a manager identifies a potential market opportunity, justifies a strategic direction to management, and then instructs the organization's IT group to deliver the means necessary to meet the opportunity.

Jon wore many hats during this demo, literally. As he assumed the developer role, Ilya donned a Rastafarian hat complete with dreadlocks upon Jon's head and a Jester's hat for the business-intelligence role!

All humor aside, this event, along with a slew of many other Microsoft activities Jon and other Clarity employees have participated in, exemplifies the absolute confidence Microsoft has in Clarity Consulting to get the job done in the best way possible, and also with our demonstrated expertise across several development, and other consulting disciplines.

We are enormously proud to have participated in this event.

This sample add-in being developed by Clarity will help illustrate the key concepts of programming using Visual Studio 2005 Tools for Office with Microsoft Outlook.

A Starter Kit is an enhanced project template that can be shared with other members of the community. A Starter Kit includes code samples, documentation, and other resources to help developers learn new tools and programming techniques while building useful, real-world applications. This article written by Don Peterson, a Clarity consultant, will show how to create and deploy a starter kit from start to finish.
