April 2006 - Posts
I am a big fan of the Code Camp concept. I had a great time speaking and attending the So Cal Code Camp Event in Anaheim earlier in the year. A Code Camp is now being planned for San Diego for the weekend of June 24th and 25th. You can get all the details at the Web Site. The Anaheim Code Camp was a blast. Not only did you get two days of great technical content, but also a Geek Dinner with a band. And the best part about all this is that it is all FREE. There is no excuse for not attending should you find yourself in San Diego that weekend.
Go to the site to register for the Code Camp and also to submit a speaker abstract if you are interested in speaking at the event.
I had the pleasure of speaking to the San Diego ASP.Net SIG group last week. The ASP.Net SIG in San Diego is a great group of people led by Dan Mathson and part of the San Diego .Net User Group family. There were about 40 people there with a good mix of developers and DBAs leading to some interesting discussions both during the presentation and after. One of the coolest things for me about speaking is the people I get to meet.
The presentation I gave was on some of the T-SQL Enhancements in SQL Server 2005 and some miscellaneous Management Studio cool features. It’s always fun to give a presentation and see people get excited about going back to the office and utilizing some of the new functionality.
Thanks to the ASP.Net SIG for having me.

Unfortunately, that is the time since my last post. Wow, time sure travels fast when you are having fun. So a April 24th resolution to get back to blogging some more. I will be posting some more on SQL Server and also will be getting into some WCF stuff as well. Stay tuned…
